Support our scholarship fund today:

We are excited to launch our fundraising campaign to raise $5,000 for our 2025 scholarship fund. Our goal is to support our students and their families as they pursue college degrees and take the next steps toward achieving their career dreams. Our scholars will be eligible for one of three scholarships:

Theresa and Charles Odei Scholarship: awards $200 to five Ghanaian university students for academic excellence, campus leadership, and positive impact in their broader community.

Elisheba and Maya Odei Scholarship: $1,000 to two Black/African-American women who are high school seniors in the U.S. with excellent academic records and plans to pursue a degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

School and Beyond Scholarship: provides $500 to three Black/African-American U.S. high school seniors who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and community service.

Through Their Lens: SB Scholars Share Their Experiences

We are ecstatic to highlight two of our School and Beyond scholars, Caroline Arthur and Rachael Adu, along with their testimonials about how the School and Beyond Foundation is helping them achieve their dreams! Both students are from Ghana and attest to how the Foundation has contributed to their professional and personal growth.

Rachael Adu

Ghanaian SB Scholar

Student at University of Ghana

Rachael, an aspiring physiotherapist, affirms that the Foundation has enhanced her studies by “providing access to resources, workshops, and expert talks.” She also states that School and Beyond “has encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone, engage in discussions, and develop critical thinking skills.” For more information on Rachael’s story, click here.

Caroline Arthur

Ghanaian SB Scholar

Student at University of Cape Coast

Caroline similarly testifies to the significance of the Foundation in leading her closer to becoming a chartered accountant and certified data analyst. She states, “The Foundation’s programs, mentorship, and guidance have significantly improved my confidence, time management, and goal-setting skills.” She maintains that School and Beyond will continue to aid her in her career path through its “career coaching, networking opportunities, and skill development programs.” To learn more about Caroline’s story, click here

College Application Season

The college application process is a stressful time for students, parents, and teachers alike. During this period, School and Beyond strives to support our scholars to the highest degree possible.

In July and October, we held college advising sessions, with an expert advisor, providing scholars and their parents with extensive guidance in navigating this journey. In our summer session, we covered the initial steps of the application process, such as college research, school tracking and organization, college lists, standardized testing, and campus visits. During our recent fall session, we discussed the personal statement, recommendation letters, and financial aid.

Throughout the college application process, we ensure our scholars stay on track by providing various resources such as 1:1 essay reviews and organizational templates. Collaborating with Edison Prep, our scholars also receive personalized test preparation for the SAT and ACT. Through these resources, we aim to equip our scholars with the necessary tools for a successful college application process.

For easy reference, we have shared below a brief overview of the college application timeline for students and parents. For additional content we’ve created for the broader community, check out our college social media videos on organization help, personal statement review, SAT prep resources, and more.
